Students were given the opportunity to be involved in an activity identifying live specimens of "critters" that were gathered from local stream beds.

The closing activity had students pretend they were a "critter" found in nearby streams. A clean container of water representing their "home" had various pollutants added until the water was so badly polluted that nothing could no longer live in the water.
